Abstract
The prognosis of teeth involved in the line of mandibular fractures was studied by a prospective examination of 30 patients with 51 fracture line teeth. The teeth were tested for vitality by thermal and electrical pulp stimuli, clinical and
radiographic
evaluation. The observation period varied from 1 to 2 years. It was found that 32% of the teeth, which were initially nonvital, showed vitality at the time of reexamination. Thirty-nine % of the teeth, which were initially nonvital, did not
demonstrate
any abnormal signs and symptoms. Our reslts encourage the clinician to retain fracture line teeth.
